Erika has always had a passion for helping others, and she is finally in a position to pursue that passion. Early on in her college career, Erika wanted to be a nurse. Her thought process was simple… “nurses are the patients’ advocates; they are there for them every step of the way.” During her required pharmacology course, she learned that a lot of drugs only suppressed the pain and almost every prescribed drug caused additional side-effects for the patient. This realization did not sit well with her conscience; her job had the potential to cause more harm than good to a person. She did further research and gained a better understanding on effects of diet on overall health. Her thought process changed to something even simpler… “Help people understand that their diet has a bigger impact on living a healthy lifestyle and can reduce or even eliminate dependence on prescription drugs.” This realization is what has led her to the path that she is pursuing currently. She believes that healthy eating is vital to one’s wellbeing. She wants to inspire others to live a healthier lifestyle and help people take preventive measures to minimize the risk for chronic illnesses. To be best prepared to inspire others, Erika, currently, is completing a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition at the University of Houston and is planning to become a registered dietitian. She has seen and experienced the immense benefits the Ideal Protein protocol offers people trying to lose weight.
